Paper / FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where do my files go?
Nowhere. Every Paper tool runs entirely in your browser. When you drop a file on the page, it's read into your browser's memory and processed there. There is no upload step, no server-side storage, and no account system.
Is Paper really free?
Yes. Every tool is free to use, with no watermarks, ads, or signup. The free tier is capped at files up to 25 MB, 30 pages per operation, and batches of up to 3 files. Paper Pro ($19 one-time) removes those limits.
Is Paper Pro a subscription?
No. Paper Pro is a single one-time payment. There is no subscription, no renewal, and no expiration. You buy it once and keep it.
What's included in Paper Pro?
All current Paper tools with no file size, page, or batch limits; the compression quality slider; and every future Paper tool we add. If we ship a desktop app, it's included — no upcharge.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. Full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions. Email us and we'll process it.
Which browsers are supported?
Any modern browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Arc. Paper uses standard web APIs and doesn't require any extensions or plugins.
Will my files work if I'm offline?
After the page has loaded once, yes. All processing happens on-device, so once Paper is open in a tab it will continue working even if your connection drops.
Can I use Paper for work documents?
That's the intended use. Since files never leave your device, Paper is safe for contracts, tax returns, medical records, and other documents you wouldn't want to upload to a third-party server.
