How to split a PDF

  1. 1. Drop a PDF onto the page, or click to choose a file.
  2. 2. Pick a mode — extract specific page ranges, or burst the file into one PDF per page.
  3. 3. For ranges, type them like 1-3, 5, 7-9. Overlapping ranges merge automatically.
  4. 4. Click Split. Your new PDF (or a zip of single-page PDFs) downloads automatically.

When to use this

Extracting a signed page from a long contract. Pulling receipts out of a combined statement to send to a specific vendor. Breaking a scanned packet into per-form PDFs. Anything where you have one PDF and need a subset of it as a separate file.

What happens to my file?

Nothing leaves your device. The PDF is read into your browser's memory and processed there. Close the tab and every byte is gone from Paper.

Limits

The free version handles files up to 25 MB and 30 pages per operation. That covers most real documents. Paper Pro ($19 one-time) removes all limits — see pricing.
